Vancouver’s North Shore is committed to making our destination welcoming and navigable for everyone.

Accessible Highlights

Plan Ahead

  • Book accessible rooms, parking, or transport early.

  • Check attraction websites for the latest accessibility details.

Accessible Transport

Metro Vancouver offers accessible buses and SkyTrain stations. HandyDART is a pre-booked, door-to-door service for people who cannot use conventional transit.

Accessible Outdoor Experiences

The North Shore features improved access at many parks and trails, with boardwalks, paved viewpoints, and picnic areas.

Attractions & Services

  • Sports facilities: arenas and fields include accessible seating, ramps, and parking.

  • Museums & cultural sites: many provide elevator access and accessible washrooms.

  • Community centres & libraries: offer assistive technology and large-print materials.

Neurodiverse Backpack Loan Program

To help make visits more welcoming for neurodiverse visitors and families, select attractions on Vancouver’s North Shore now offer a Backpack Loan Program. These backpacks include sensory tools such as noise-cancelling headphones, fidget items, and visual supports to create a more comfortable visitor experience.
