Public Disco Festival is a new, full-day, two-stage electronic music festival at The Shipyards in North Vancouver, brought to you by the team behind Vancouver’s favourite summer block parties. Celebrating a decade of Public Disco, this event brings underground electronic music to one of the region’s most architecturally distinctive public spaces on the North Shore waterfront.

Headlining the Main Stage is Leon Vynehall (UK), Fred P (New York), Prosumer (UK), and DJ Holographic (Detroit), with support from Vancouver’s Dane and Calgary’s DJ Hannah. Inside the Pipe Shop Venue, the Vinyl Lounge powered by Lobe Studio features an all star list of local vinyl selectors, alongside live visuals curated by ephemeral objects. A slower room with immersive sound, built for conversation, deep listening, and getting lost in the projections.

This event is the centrepiece of a multi-day cultural celebration marking a decade of Public Disco creating pop-up dance floors, transforming public space, and creating community connection across Vancouver and beyond. More programming TBA.

✦ THE SITE

Public Disco Festival takes over the Shipyards District, a transformed industrial waterfront at the foot of Lower Lonsdale in North Vancouver. The site spans Shipbuilders’ Square, the Mews, Shipyard Commons, and the Pipe Shop, with two distinct dance floors, waterfront views, an outdoor food market, and indoor/outdoor lounge spaces, set within one of the most architecturally distinctive public spaces in the region.

The main stage is set in Shipyard Commons, a covered open-air plaza built on the footprint of the original Wallace Shipyards machine shop. The steel-framed structure sits right on the water, facing downtown Vancouver across the inlet, and brings shelter without losing the open sky.

The Pipe Shop Venue, a restored century-old industrial building steps away, houses the Listening Lounge stage and curated visual art projections, creating an intimate counterpoint to the main dance floor.

A short Seabus ride from downtown Vancouver. Easy, direct, no car required.

✦ CODE OF CONDUCT

Prosumer

“Achim Brandenburg, known globally as Prosumer, is a DJ/Producer from Germany with a captivation for all things electronic. His passion for music blossomed in the late 80s and early 90s, heavily influenced by the burgeoning techno and house scenes in Europe, leading him into DJing where he thrived in the underground electronic music scene. Prosumer earned his reputation as a versatile and dynamic DJ capable of blending various styles seamlessly, becoming a resident at the renowned Panorama Bar. His sets blend Chicago house, Detroit techno, and eclectic influences, while his productions — including collaborative work on the “”Serenity”” album on Ostgut Ton — have received critical acclaim. His DJ sets are characterised by a deep emotional connection to soul, funk, and raw, gritty sounds, with appearances at Fabric London, Robert Johnson Frankfurt, and Glastonbury Festival. A true stalwart of House Music.”

Fred P

Fred P represents what it means to express yourself honestly and unapologetically. Not being classically trained has proven to be a superpower throughout his 25+ year journey as a musician. Connecting deeply to what lies within and fearlessly channeling it into his craft has made him respected by peers and cherished by listeners alike. From day one, his goal has remained the same: to raise the vibrations of all who listen. The term “artist” is not wasted on him — it is amplified. Whether DJing, performing live, or delivering a hybrid set, his focus is always on creating an energy of love, togetherness, and positive vibration. Fred believes music is the purest form of communication, capable of leading even a troubled soul to rejoice. “My service is to the music and the music is for the people.”
