Dear Friends
We would like to inform you that on Friday, September 9, 2022, on the shore of the ocean, on the wonderful, open stage of Shipyards, at 5 p.m. big Charity Concert “Stand with Ukraine” dedicated to the 31st anniversary of the Restoration of Ukraine’s Independence will begin. Concert is organized with the support of the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral of the Holy Eucharist, New Westminster Eparchy of the Ukrainian Catholic Church. We have been given a charity number, bank details and a QR code to which you can transfer funds to support Ukraine. The main goal of Moscow’s aggression is the liquidation of Ukraine as a state and the total destruction of Ukrainians as a nation. With further colonization, the capture of Ukrainian territories and natural resources. Therefore, let’s not be indifferent: in this difficult time, let’s support Ukraine financially, as much as we can. There is strength in unity! Together – we are invincible! All collected funds will be transferred to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Do not be surprised that the holiday concert will take place on September 9th. It’s simple: there are always concerts on the Shipyards Stage, and this was the only day when the stage was free. We are sincerely grateful to the City Hall of North Vancouver for understanding our request and giving us the opportunity to celebrate another anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence at the Shipyards Stage for free. Also, as a sign of solidarity with Ukraine, the City Hall expressed its desire to do the following: 1. It will include this event in the cultural events plan of the city of North Vancouver for the month of September; 2. plans to turn this concert into a city-wide event; 3. will provide us with all necessary informational support. The Ukrainian band “Nova Khvylia” and local Ukrainian dance groups will take part in the concert program. “Kvitka Dancers” has already agreed to participate in the concert. Negotiations are still underway with the dance group “Dovbush Dancers”. The organizers also want to involve a local Canadian band. The results of all negotiations will be announced to you additionally. At the end of the concert with a solo program, Ihor Bohdan, a living legend, Honored Artist of Ukraine, former soloist of the “Vatra” band, will perform for you, who will offer you his old, well-known and new songs. For information, we would like to inform you that the area around the stage is a recreational area. So you will be able to buy food, drink, sit down, and rest without any problems, if necessary. Parking is also not a problem, there are several parking lots nearby: www.cnv.org…. We are looking forward to everyone who cares! Let’s celebrate together, let’s help Ukraine together! |
