Bridge Brewing Company
Spiced, crisp, full-bodied, and with a bit of bite! The fall flavour profile has arrived in the North Shore craft brewery scene, and we’re ready to roll up our sweater sleeves and start sipping!
As sure as you can rely on the autumn colour palette changing across our northern mountain range, we always look forward to our area brewers swapping in their new seasonal tap lists when the weather starts to cool down. With 10+ breweries and distilleries across Vancouver’s North Shore, you’re sure to come across something new to savour on your next brisk stroll. Not only that, but the Craft Beer Festival will be kicking off on October 30 with a Halloween-themed party at the Shipyards Pipe Shop, so it’s an excellent time to take stock of all the tasty options happening throughout the DRAFTY season.
Here are just a handful to try first.

Copperpenny Distilling Co.
A multi-award-winning craft distillery, Copperpenny has been supplying the North Shore with world-class grain-to-glass spirits and liqueurs. Along with their excellent gin, vodka, akvavit, and a seasonally inspired range of liqueurs (which you’re able to buy bottles of), the bar service is top-notch, offering a mix of classic and inspired new cocktails.
A sipping staple of cooler weather, the Negroni will keep you warm from the inside out. For autumn, Copperpenny is bringing out a menu dedicated to the classic cocktail with seasonal twists on each offering. It may seem like a simple recipe at first: gin, Campari, and sweet red vermouth. When you craft your own spirits, all sorts of inventive flavour possibilities open up.

Black Kettle Brewing Co.
A short walk from the water, Black Kettle Brewing is an excellent addition to your itinerary after a brisk autumn walk. Dog-friendly and minutes from the Spirit Trail, there’s a spontaneous and fun vibe to every visit here. Their beautiful branding is reminiscent of old-school sailor-style tattoos, and each of their drink designs might inspire you to get a newly inked forget-me-not. Just be sure not to make this decision after having a couple of their Derailed IPAs!
Smooth and full with big hazy flavour, this hybrid beer is a supreme quencher for beast-sized thirsts.
A bold, dark IPA with toasty malt and rich caramel notes, delivering a smooth, satisfying finish that cleverly masks its strength.

Bridge Brewing
Taking its name from one of the most iconic landmarks on the West Coast, Bridge Brewing has grown into a destination in its own right since its humble beginnings as Vancouver’s first nano brewery.
Despite their growth in the years since opening in 2012, they’ve kept their vision close to the ground with a focus on sustainability, and they’ve kept to that mandate by being 99% waste-free! An excellent example of how our community businesses pledge to North Shore Like a Local. So with that in mind, cracking open one of their brews might be the tastiest good deed you’ll do today.
Tap into your nostalgia for straightforward beers with this no-nonsense ESB (Extra Special Bitter). A subtle malty sweetness will no doubt inspire countless laid-back tales of old.

Beva Brewing & Blending
Located in the neighbourhood of Pemberton, Beva has a classically colourful aesthetic that rings through their design, their brewing, and their staff. You need only take a wander through their taplist and sample the clean classics like a Vienna lager, and a West Coast IPA. The flipside is a bit more adventurous though, offering mixed-ferment styles such as the Wild Rose Ale, and the Blood Orange Gose. The experience is well-rounded, stylish, and definitely never boring!
Tart, jammy and floral, this is a barrel-aged ale. This sipper is like a tasty seasonal bridge between the warm summer front and the crisp autumn air.
A robust-style porter with a full creamy flavour, you’ll get hints of chocolate, coffee, and toast. Cozy vibes all around, perfect for the chilly season.
