Quarry Rock | Credit: @vancityharrison
This accessible and dog-friendly hike takes about 1.5-2 hours to complete with just over 200m of elevation gain over approximately 4km. Quarry Rock offers fantastic mountain views without a major time commitment. As it’s one of the more popular trails on the North Shore, you’re sure to pass other passionate nature seekers looking for a fresh air reset. Then, after you’ve reached the top, drop by Honey’s Donuts for a well-deserved reward! Make sure to use public transit to get there; parking is very limited.

Lynn Canyon Park
For the days that feel more like summer than spring, Lynn Canyon Park is one of our favourite local spots to cool down. Walk through the lush rainforest of Lynn Loop, or hike to the invigorating Norvan Falls (both dog-friendly trails), then end your route at one of the natural swimming holes if you’re down for a plunge! It will make for an active (and free) itinerary when you’re looking for a time out from the heat.
