The fun begins at 8am in North Vancouver with the Lynn Valley Lions Pancake breakfast, followed by the Lynn Valley Day parade at 10am. The Park opens to the public at 10am to0, with games and large inflatable bouncy toys for the kids, a Show ‘N Shine for car enthusiasts, food booths and live entertainment for all ages. Not to be missed is the Maypole dancing, puppet show, magic show, jugglers, face painters and more. Local community groups are also there with their own booths to showcase their work and efforts on behalf of the community.
It was over a hundred years ago, in 1912, that Lynn Valley Day celebrations first took place. However it was much later, when in 1972 the celebrations was revitalized it to be the on-going annual event it has become. A popular community day it includes a local parade and a day full of family focussed activities. But of course visitors are more than welcome! The event is produced and presented in large part by the Lynn Valley Community Association and local Lions Club.
