West Vancouver, an official venue city of the 2010 Winter Games, is hosting the freestyle skiing and snowboard events on Cypress Mountain.
During the 17 days of the 2010 Winter Games, West Vancouver 's Spirit Square will be the focal point for community celebrations. Daily entertainment and programming will feature local artists, the cultures and industry of Nunavut, the Yukon and the Northwest Territories, as well as artists from across Canada.
Catch the Games on a Big Screen
Come bring your friends and family to watch Canada go for gold. The Olympic Games and events will be featured on big screens in the heated and covered Atrium at Spirit Square.
Canadian Winter Sport Showcase
Twice nightly the Spirit Square will come alive with this unique performance created specially for West Vancouver 2010. This spectacle of light, sound and live dance performance celebrates the brilliance and beauty of winter across Canada.
Sports in Space Exhibit - February 10 to March 21, 2010
The Canadian Space Agency's Sports in Space exhibit makes its debut at our official 2010 Celebration Site. This is a rare experience provides a fun, interactive learning experience for youth and families for five weeks. Enjoy your self-guided tour of a scale model of the International Space Station and gain a sense of what it's like to live and work in space. Models of the CanadaArm2 and Dextre will also be on display. Experience squash in a spacecraft and find out if the Canucks can play hockey on Mars.

Northern Showcase Performances
Dance, sing and enjoy the sounds of Northern performers from across alongside your favourite local artists. Experience the famous Inuit blanket toss on the Great Lawn in front of Spirit Square, participate with the Dene and Inuit Games athletes, and enjoy story- telling with Elders.

Monster Exhibition - February 5 to May 8, 2010
Presented with the Vancouver 2010 Cultural Olympiad, with the support of the Audain Foundation. Opening Reception on February 4, 7-9pm.
Monsters have appeared throughout the ages and in many cultures. Fear, paranoia and the triumph of good over evil manifests itself in horror, polarized societies, and intolerance giving rise to monsters rooted in folklore, mythology, legend, literature, art and popular culture. This exhibition features works by leading Canadian and international artists, including Sandra Meigs, Marcel Dzama, Corin Sworn, Howie Tsui, Alexandra Flood, Beau Dick, Nicola Tyson, Lutz Braun and others who explore monstrous sensibilities in their practice.
Transit to Cypress Mountain, West Vancouver
Important Note: From the Olympic bus network drop-off point, you'll be required to walk 1.6 kilometres on snow to reach the freestyle stadium and 2 kilometres to reach the entrance of the ski and snowboard cross stadium. The last portion of the walk to the snowboard and ski cross stadium is uphill and includes a set of stairs which you'll need to climb, in order to reach the viewing areas.
Transit From Vancouver:
Take the Olympic bus network from the Capilano University departure hub in North Vancouver, from the Simon Fraser University departure hub in Burnaby or from the Lonsdale Quay transfer hub.
Travel Time to Venue:
From Capilano University: at least 40 minutes. From Simon Fraser University: 60 minutes. From Lonsdale Quay: 30 minutes.
*Gates open three hours prior to the start of competition.
